Had a 1996 black 650 savage, chopped rear fender, stickers removed, rode it for one year with great pleasure (and much help from this forum members).
On january 17th 2003 I was riding to work (living in south western france, Bordeaux the wine country, the weather is fair even in winter !) when an hurried commuter didn't respect a stop signal and crashed me.
My bike was dead and a broken heel for me which kept me out of work till april 2nd 2003.
Luckily (savage are seldom here)I just found and purchased a 1992 and also black Savage.
Although it is in a poorer condition than my previous bike I'm deligthed riding the little thumper again !
Looking forward for chopping it.
Keep the rubber side down and watch for mad cagers !!
